Ideal for first-time visitors to Bodrum
Our first stop is the magnificent Bodrum Castle, one of the finest examples of medieval architecture, proudly standing between two harbors. Built by the Knights of St. John in the 15th century, this historic fortress offers breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea and the charming Bodrum coastline. Guests can explore ancient towers, visit the Museum of Underwater Archaeology, and take memorable photos overlooking the turquoise waters. Whether you arrive with a pleasant walk or in the comfort of our VIP vehicle, Bodrum Castle is the perfect introduction to the city’s history and spirit. Note: Entrance to Bodrum Castle requires an admission fee.
After visiting the castle, we head to the Bodrum Windmills, one of the city’s most iconic viewpoints. Located on a hill between Bodrum and Gümbet, these historic windmills once harnessed the power of the Aegean winds to grind grain for local villages. Today, they stand as silent witnesses of the past, offering visitors an incredible panoramic view of Bodrum, its marina, and the endless blue of the Aegean Sea. It’s the perfect spot to relax, take stunning photos, and enjoy the refreshing sea breeze before continuing our journey.
Our next stop is the historic Myndos Gate, one of the few remaining parts of the ancient city walls of Halicarnassus. Built during the reign of King Mausolus in the 4th century BC, this gate once served as the western entrance to the ancient city. It is best known as the site of one of Alexander the Great’s legendary battles during his conquest of Asia Minor. Today, visitors can walk among the ancient ruins, see the remains of defensive towers, and imagine how the city once looked more than two thousand years ago. Depending on the group’s preference, we can reach Myndos Gate either on foot or by VIP vehicle. It’s a peaceful and historically rich stop that connects you directly to Bodrum’s ancient past.
We continue our journey with a visit to the Ancient Theatre of Bodrum, one of the oldest and best-preserved structures in the region. Dating back to the 4th century BC, this impressive amphitheater was built during the reign of King Mausolus and could once hold up to 13,000 spectators. Overlooking the modern city and the deep blue of the Aegean Sea, the theatre offers a perfect combination of history and scenery. As you walk through its ancient stone steps, you can almost imagine the voices, music, and stories that once echoed here thousands of years ago. Today, it remains a symbol of Bodrum’s deep-rooted cultural heritage and continues to host concerts and cultural events during the summer season.
Our next and most authentic stop is Etrim Village, a place where time slows down and traditions come to life. Here, guests experience genuine village life and witness the art of traditional handwoven carpets being created by local women who have preserved this craft for generations. We also enjoy a homemade traditional lunch prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients — a true taste of Anatolian hospitality, shared in a warm and friendly village atmosphere.
After lunch, we head to the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Built as a monumental tomb for King Mausolus, it once stood as one of the most remarkable architectural achievements of antiquity. This visit is optional, and the entrance fee is not included in the tour price. As you explore the remains, you’ll get a glimpse into Bodrum’s ancient past and the legacy of civilizations that once thrived here.
After visiting the Mausoleum, we make our way back to Bodrum city center, where our journey comes to an end. As we return, guests carry with them unforgettable memories — from ancient wonders and breathtaking views to the warm hospitality of village life. It’s more than just a tour; it’s a day filled with culture, history, and authentic local experiences that capture the true spirit of Bodrum.
